Budapest

Budapest seemed overwhelming and sprawling to us when we first arrived, but we felt quite comfortable finding our way around by the end of our stay. It was full of hidden treasures, and we would jump at the chance to go back again! Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful.

We especially enjoyed Hungarian food, and the souvenir cookbook we brought home will surely see some use. The public transportation system was fun to use, especially the Metro line 1, just a few steps below street-level.

Our Favorite Group Moment

The evening river cruise was enchanting, and we loved standing atop the boat with fellow tour members.

Most Useful Cultural Tip

If you’re using your fingers to indicate numbers for someone in Hungary (or Prague), start with your thumb as “one” - that’s how they do it!
