A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.”

– Tim Cahill.

Signing up for a guided tour, our biggest concern was that we would end up “trapped” in someone else’s schedule, listening to a guide read bland information off a fact sheet and unable to explore on our own or experience what was interesting to us. The thought was enough to make us contemplate the advantages of striking out on our own!

Rick Steves’ Europe offered everything we hoped for in a tour company. Guides who actually lived in the cities we’d be visiting, small tour groups of about 25 people, flexible schedules with plenty of free time, and a focus on history, architecture, and empowering travelers to explore on their own. It all seemed too good to be true!

Rick Steves delivered on every promise and we could not be more pleased with our experience. To find out more about Rick Steves’ Europe, look through the rest of our site, then visit www.ricksteves.com

Why Rick Steves?

As beginning travelers, the idea of exploring Europe on our own was completely overwhelming, so finding a good travel agency or tour company became our first priority. After combing through dozens of websites and gathering recommendations from friends, it became increasingly clear that Rick Steves’ Europe was the tour company for us.
